The Florida State Seminoles cheerleading squad is made up of an all-woman’s team (Gold) and a coed team (Garnet). Both Gold and Garnet Cheerleading squads attend men's and women's basketball games, home and away football games, women's volleyball, and post season travel for bowls and tournaments. The Florida State Seminoles Cheerleaders are very dedicated to community service and public appearances around Florida State University's campus as well.
The all-women’s Gold team cheers for all home games and half of the away games for football, along with other sporting events. Tryouts for the Florida State Seminoles Cheerleading squad is very rigorous and a candidate will need to bring it if they expect to get a spot. The Seminoles only take the best of the best for their cheerleading squad.
The co-ed Garnet team also attends all football home games and half of the away games, along with half of the volleyball games and all of the men’s home basketball games. To join the co-ed team, a candidate is required to be able to do stunts and tumbling routines. The co-ed cheerleaders practice twice a week and must workout 2-3 times a week on the alternate days.
