Neefy Moffett hails from Palm Bay, Florida and graduated from Palm Bay High School in 2005. On the high school football team, Neefy Moffett recorded 160 tackles and 8 sacks during his senior year alone. He was a four-star ranked prospect and chose Florida State University over Miami and Georgia.

As a true freshman in 2005, Neefy Moffett competed in 11 games. He had 9 tackles and 2 sacks over the course of the season. At that point, Neefy Moffett served as a back-up to senior players but used every available chance to prove himself to Coach Bobby Bowden.

In 2006, Neefy Moffett played all 13 games with 2 starts. He had a career-high 13 tackles over the course of the season.

By 2007, Neefy Moffett played all 12 games and started 6. He set a new career high with 19 tackles and 2 forced fumbles.
